Vladislav Zolotaryov (born in North East Siberia, 1942, died 1975) was one of the first composers to write seriously for the bayan (also known as the piano accordion). Despite committing suicide at the age of 33, he completed many works including vocal music, string quartets, compositions for chamber and symphony orchestras and an oratorio (Monument to the Revolution), in addition to works for the bayan.
