Originally included on her 1992 studio album The Radical Light with a different mix, the more commonly known version is shorter and more up-tempo. It was made famous through its usage as the theme tune to the popular 90s comedy drama Ally McBeal and was released as a single in 1998. It topped the Singles Chart in Spain and reached the Top 10 in both the UK and Canada.

She appeared regularly in the television show Ally McBeal in which she played a resident performer at the bar where the show's characters drank after work. She plays piano, guitar, and bass.
