We Are Tokyo formed in 2009 when lead singer and bassist Alex Fox wanted to bring to life the songs he had been writing in his home studio. After writing tracks such as Colour Blind and XY, Alex looked to bring it to the live stage with a full line up. Drummer Tom Wheeler instantly felt a connection to the band’s fresh sound after hearing radio play of an early demo.
