Biography
Yazz, born Yasmina Evans 19th May 1960 in Shepherd's Bush, London, attended Holland Park School before trying her hand at catwalk modelling. In 1983 she enjoyed a number of club hits with the band Biz, but her first pop success came in 1988 when she provided the vocals for Coldcut's 'Doctorin' the house'. Soon after this she went solo, signed to Big Life Records, and had a number of major hits around the world, including 'The Only Way Is Up', 'Stand Up For Your Love Rights' and 'Fine Time'. Since the early 90's her hits have dried up, though in 2008 she has released the album 'Running Back To You' which celebrates her new found Christian faith.
