Yoko Hiraoka is a senior master performer of Koto, Biwa, Jiuta Shamisen and voice. A native of Kyoto, Japan, she studied classical Ikuta-ryu Koto and Shamisen music from an early age. She received a master level degree from Ono Mamoru, a direct disciple of Miyagi Michio and the founder of Somei Ongaku-kai in Tokyo. Her performance career originated in Japan and continues in the U.S., spanning over 30 years.
