Zâr (Persian: زار) is a collaborative effort between Iranian folk band Shanbehzadeh Ensemble and Matthieu Donarier Trio, a French jazz band. Since 2001, two groups have been working together at revisiting the music of Southern Iran, which itself stems from age-old cultural exchanges between Eastern Africa and Persia.
