According to the song's composer Tetsurō Oda, she was singing "strangely" but it proved to be good. It sold over 1.64 million copies and became the highest-selling song for Zard. Originally a group of 5 members, with lead vocalist Izumi Sakai (aka Sachiko Kamachi) as group leader. She was part of the record label B-Gram Records, Inc.
