According to nightflight dot com, Randy Jackson wrote "Who's Behind the Door?" in 1977, six years prior to original release, on his grandparents' farm in Texas. As for the lyrics, Jackson said they were inspired by Alvin Toffler’s novel "Future Shock," and Stanley Kubrick‘s film "2001: A Space Odyssey."
