Bill Buchanan (April 30, 1930 - August 1, 1996) was an American songwriter. His most famous composition took place in 1956, when he and Dickie Goodman created the sound collage "The Flying Saucer". After Buchanan and Goodman severed their partnership in 1959, Buchanan later wrote the song "Please Don't Ask About Barbara" for Bobby Vee.
