Emma & Matilda are a Finnish folk-pop duo consisting of singers Emma Johansson and Matilda Malkamäki. They gained recognition with their debut single "Joku jonka sä haluut", released in November 2022. In May 2023, they released their first EP, "Siellä on kaikki niin ihanaa", which reached the ninth position on the official Finnish album chart in its first week.
In 2024, Emma & Matilda received three nominations at the Emma Awards, Finland’s most prestigious music awards organized by Musiikkituottajat (IFPI Finland). They were nominated in the categories Newcomer of the Year, Song of the Year, and Pop of the Year.
Their music blends Finnish folk influences with contemporary pop, characterized by vocal harmonies and introspective lyrics. Songs such as "Sä saat mut" and "Veronica" showcase their melodic style and emotional depth. The duo has performed at various Finnish festivals, including the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival, further solidifying their place in Finland’s music scene.
Emma & Matilda continue to build their career, gaining recognition for their modern interpretation of folk-pop music.
