Japanese Alternative, Shoegaze In 2008, Takuro Sugata formed his previous band, the Drives, which boasted a rough, grunge-laden rock & roll sound, and began performing in his hometown of Kobe and neighboring Osaka. After several lineup changes, the name of the band also changed to AstroAttack and they released several EPs. They also began to play in more distant areas such as Nagoya, Tokyo, and Taiwan, drawing attention from local media and earning performances in music festivals.
