Anybody from Houston "tuning" in to this? ... Do you remember the old KIKK back in the late 1960s to early 1970s? ... I'm trying to track down a fellow worker named Bonnie Bryant and her daughter Becky Bryant ... In fact, I'm trying to locate a lot of the old KIKKers and the Miss Go-Texans of that period. It Asleep at the Wheel! Can't agree with LondonLouis. Bob Wills is much more than a footnote - particularly if you're standing in, say, Austin versus, say, Manhattan.

Never quite know how to rate Bob Wills. People writing on the American popular music scene in the 1930s, always have a side reference along the lines of "and then there was Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys" noted for being somewhere between pure Country and the Swing Bands. I find him pleasant to listen to, but he doesn't really stand comparsion with bands like Basie's or Goodman's, which were playing at the same time. .... but interesting, alll the same.
