1963年1月7日，乳名Clinton Darryl Mansell的Clint Mansell出生于英格兰考文垂市。自1981年进入乐坛以来，Mansell成功地扮演了乐手和作曲家的角色。 Mansell曾经是英国流行乐队Pop Will Eat Itself的主唱兼吉他手，而1996年乐队解散后，Mansell在好友，导演达伦·阿罗诺夫斯基的帮助下进入了电影作曲的天地。 Mansell的出道作品是在阿罗诺夫斯基1998年完成的导演处女作π中的配乐。尽管在此作品中的表现获得了评论界的好评，但Mansell此时还不为大众所知。随着与Autechre，Aphex Twin，Orbital和Roni Size的合作，他赢得了智能舞曲和电子乐爱好者的青睐。 Mansell的下一部作品则是阿罗诺夫斯基2000年的力作，梦之安魂曲的配乐。本片的配乐堪称完美，为Mansell带来了不少忠诚的信徒。而指环王2·双塔奇谋的宣传片也采用了梦之安魂曲的一首配乐Lux Aeterna的混音版作为背景音乐，并更名为Requiem for a Tower。Lux Aeterna也因此名声大噪，并被用到了无数电视节目和电影预告中，其中就有电影迷走星球，达芬奇密码，巴比伦纪元以及电视剧集Lost。此外，天空体育新闻每周六的足球节目也用此曲作为伴奏。 Mansell也为游戏改编电影Doom作曲，他的音… 了解更多
