Keith Jarrett 生于1945年5月8日，美国宾西法尼亚州人，是美国最为杰出的钢琴家及作曲家。他曾与Art Blakey, Charls Lloyd, Miles Davis合作，早在70年初，就在古典和爵士领域都获得成功。他对音乐的把握也不只限于爵士乐，从古典、蓝调到福音、民谣，Keith Jarrett把各种风格音乐的变奏融合到了他的音乐中。他演出时极其投入，常常边弹边哼出所弹的旋律，整场演出很少会老老实实坐在琴凳上，台风堪称“怪诞”，但音乐却美如天籁。他对爵士乐的贡献非常之大，有人将他称为爵士乐中的巴赫。
