King Crimson的音乐是冰冷睿智的，认真的听者决不会将它当作一种情调音乐或者消遣娱乐，隐藏在坚冷诡秘的音效后的常常是令人心惊的恐怖，这是我几乎唯一不愿在半夜的黑暗中独自欣赏的乐队，也许是因为"屠格涅夫们想让人恐怖，人们却不恐怖；契诃夫不想让人们恐怖，人们却恐怖了"吧…… King Crimson超现实的音乐残忍地解构着的却是生硬的现实，如同达利的《内战的预感》。当他们用仿佛不带丝毫感情的手指撩拨起如同对随机调出的数学公式加以计算得出的荒诞乐符时，我们竟感到如此悲伤。好像将这个数字的现世带入了我们以为圣洁慈悲的音乐的天堂，早已麻木的我们这时才发现面对冷漠已经无路可逃。
