Alexis Taylor is the lead vocalist of the British electro-pop band Hot Chip. Taylor also plays the keyboards, guitar, percussion and piano for the band. Taylor is also the keyboardist in About Group, as well as a solo artist in his own right.
After the release of Hot Chip's second album, The Warning (2006), Taylor released his first solo album, Rubbed Out (2008). The same year he formed the improvisational quartet, About Group, with Spring Heel Jack's John Coxon, Pat Thomas and former This Heat drummer Charles Hayward.
A solo EP, Nayim From The Halfway Line was released on Domino Records in 2012. The same label also released the album Await Barbarians in 2014. June 2016 saw the release of Piano, Taylor's third (and indeed piano-based…) full-length solo LP.
