They're just as magical as Dead Can Dance to me, I love both, so it's sad to see ignorant or lazy people dismissing them as "just one of those DCD soundalikes" without even giving them a proper listen... holds true for other bands as well, but Arcana certainly remain one of the best in the genre (along with Irfan and others)

I wholeheartedly agree with you! Oh, and I love Irfan too. The music of Arcana though is more somber and bleak on average if not outright ... sinister sounding.

Dark Age of Reason got me into Arcana many odd years ago. I don't know when or where I first found them, but early days of Grooveshark and/or even earlier with Dizzler Radio is a likely. Used to have all of Arcana up til like 2012 in my library i think. Along with Delerium and a few others, their Dark Ambient and the above's Darkwave stuff helped fuel some of my music tastes and songs i've done too. I had a big Dark Ambient phase in my late 00s and early 2010s, and glad i still love coming back to them after maybe 8 years and still enjoy them a lot.

Позволю себе не согласиться. На мой взгляд, этот альбом спасает только нетипичная для проекта тематика, а так он довольно невыразителен по сравнению с работами коллег по поджанру в этом (ориентальном) ключе. Послушать можно, когда хочется подобного на фон, но не более того.

Это уж точно - Красная змея вообще неинтересный альбом, уступающий аналогичным если кто-то уж сильно любит ориентальное. Этот опыт у Петера однозначно не самый удачный.

даже если. человек хотел добавить информацию о другой группе с таким же названием, тогда пишется кратко про обе группы, а не сносится все, что было по существу и заменяется несколькими фамилиями. это не описание это кринж по факту. вот что я имела ввиду

I've just grabbed both "...The Last Embrace" and "Inner Pale Sun" on their vinyl record editions... A fucking dream came true! After all these years "Innocent Child" still the best song of Arcana.

Btw, could someone pls recommend artists/albums which are similar to Arcana's "...The Last Embrace"? My first album, which I had heard from Arcana and still the best one for me. Really love this medieval atmosphere.

Just to make things clear: Arcana didn't split up, only the setting that were disolved. Peter will continue to make music and will work with many different musicians.... And we all support him in his decision:)

As close to Dead Can Dance as you can get without actually being Dead Can Dance... This is not a bad thing, just an observation that others interested in this music might find informative... i.e. if you love DCD (as I do) then you'll love this (as I do). :-)
