NPR did a brief story on BBES today. I was initially intrigued by her sound and pro women/minorities/LGBTQ messaging. It sounded to be right up my alley, but then she told me she doesn't want me to listen to it or go to her shows because I'm a white man. Apparently I am violent and angry. Literally said "this is not for you". Call me a snowflake, or whatever, but it did make me sad. How can there be any real healing or progress with that kind of exclusivity and bitterness? Yes, I see the irony. That still doesn't make it a nice way to be.
