El Verdadero Rey del Rock and Roll

all early rock n roll stars were singer/pianist, Chuck is the one who instead of piano or wind instruments put the electric guitar at the center of rock n roll. This proved a very important and decisive change for the genre.

The best 50's rocker by a large margin to me. No offense to other artists and I like many of them as well, but there were really too much drab tutti-frutti stuff back then. And while Berry's songs were not that different from the others', yet for some reason he managed to avoid this trap: his tunes were almost always fresh, truely energetic and catchy.

Whoa, what a great album he left us with! Holy smokes, you'd never think this was the same man who looked so broken down near the end. Strongly sung, strongly played, 100% Chuck. Miracles do happen; I only wish he had lived to see its release.

Big Boys is a great song, can't wait for the rest of the new album next month. Just wish Chuck was still here to see it released.
