It's a weird thing to say but I wish they took some drugs and started making more punk shit like their early albums. Sam is already moshing to love songs. If he wrote more rock stuff he would probably explode. Anyway, one of the few bands I've been listening to for over a decade and it's still fresh.

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark being a similar artist is legit funny. anyways i'm happy I fell in love with this band with In Evening Air (still their best) and that they're still making good music. Good for them.

I'm so sorry for your loss man, may she rest in peace. As someone who lost his grandmother too, I know how soul-crushing it can be. Hope this album lifts your spirits up a little.

They have my heart, Sam's voice has my heart! That live performance on Letterman I can never forget, probably one of my favorites for life. The passionate energy is infectious

Was going to comment ridiculing them for writing the same song over and over, but I just realized the first 3 albums actually sound different. So fine, I’ll just ridicule them for writing the same song over and over since 2014. But they also deserve respect for being able to maintain a fanbase just by doing that. Probably because the one song they do is really good. And they still sound completely unique. So they found their niche and they’re staying there. Good on them. But still...

I mean, if you like tomatoes, you keep buying tomatoes. If you went to buy tomatoes one day and they turned out to be carrots, you wouldn't be happy if you don't like carrots.

sometimes that's better than being "experimental" just for the sake of it. and then some shitty album is made and hordes of fans come out of the wood holes to claim "they're evolving, do you want them to make the some record over and over again?!?!". in that sense, i wish more bands were like future islands instead of trying to "push the bounderies" by making chiptune fado or something.

i came here initially to defend the catalogue, but the new album is wonderful. 2020 is really lining up for a lot of artists. This album sounds like growth from self-reflection, both in the lyricism and music.

Absolutely! For me The Far Field was ok, so I wasn't really excited about As Long As You Are. And it definitely surprised me. It feels new, solid and refreshing.

Maybe it's because The Far Field was my introduction to them, and I fell in love with my husband to it when it came out, but I absolutely LOVE The Far Field! I don't get all the hate on it? That being said, I am also on track to feel a lot of love for As Long As You Are, too!

I'm so happy I found this band accidentally when I was looking up music for The Lonely Islands.

The boxer Rebellion is very much like Future Island! Who does not know yet must know!

Yet another band right up my alley that for whatever reason flew under my radar. Although, apparently I did scrobble an album like 10 years ago. I wonder why I didn't continue listening.
