The Hebrew characters on the cover, תֹ֙הוּ֙ וָבֹ֔הוּ, transliterate as “Tohu va-Vohu” or “Tohu wa-bohu” and translate variously as “formless and empty”, “without form and void”, “waste and void”, “unseen and unformed”, and others.
