"Welcome to the Jungle" is the first track from Guns N' Roses' debut album, Appetite for Destruction, and also on their Greatest Hits album. The song peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming their first significant hit single. The song was written by lead singer Axl Rose and was inspired by an encounter he had when first moving to L.A. someone waked up to him and told him "you know where you are? your in the jungle baby, you're gonna die!"
