First recorded in 1971, Master of the Universe has become one of Hawkwind's defining tracks. The original studio recording appeared on the band's second album, In Search of Space. It was written by Nik Turner and Dave Brock and featured Turner on vocals, Brock on guitar, former Amon Düül II member Dave Anderson on bass, Del Dettmar and Dik Mik on synthesizers and Terry Ollis on drums.
