Biography
Napoleon IIIrd is a musician, producer and remixer, currently based in London after spending his formative years in Leeds and Holmfirth. His music is a rich tangle of sounds and melodies made from antique organs and car-boot keyboards, strummed chords and driving beats. Many of his songs are world-weary comments on modern life, set against an expansive musical backdrop.
Napoleon IIIrd's second album, Christiania, was released on Nov 8th 2010, to a fanfare of critical acclaim in the mainstream music media. http://www.brainloverecords.com/christianiapress
His discography includes two early EPs and a debut album, entitled "In Debt To:". 2009 saw the release of his third EP, entitled Hideki Yukawa after the groundbreaking Japanese scientist. Napoleon IIIrd toured nationally with Wild Beasts (on their Mercury-nominated "Two Dancers" album tour) and Yo Majesty!. He also played to a full house at Club NME (KOKO) and played a plethora of European festivals and clubs during this time.
Napoleon IIIrd has also remixed artists including The Cribs, ¡Forward, Russia!, Sky Larkin, Mat Riviere, Ill Ease, I Concur and Los Campesinos!, and played alongside bands as diverse as Howling Bells, Damo Suzuki, Hot Chip, The Research, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly and Chris T-T.
He is currently writing and recording his third album in his new London studio NXVI.
