"All Star" is a song by American rock band Smash Mouth, released in 1999 as the second single from their second album Astro Lounge. It was also released as part of the soundtrack to the 1999 film, Mystery Men. It has since been featured in several other movies, including perhaps most notably in the opening credits of Shrek. The song reached number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, and 24 in the UK Singles Chart. Lead singer Steve Harwell has said that his first instinct after recording the song was not to release it as a single, it was to sell it to advertisers.
