Greetings all. I have compiled a comprehensive Spodify playlist of Spacemen rarities and standout live tracks for your listening pleasure. The playlist commences with an alternate version of Perfect Prescription, composed of alternate takes organized in the the same track order as the original album. I hope you enjoy: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/179HpkTDrQ48vKtq6zcaOg?si=98bb2c655b484f32

Check out Loop if you like this band, Loop has probably the best guitar tone I ever heard

As someone wrote in RYM, which I completely agree with: "My honeymoon period with Spacemen 3 was relatively short and very, very sweet. But like all good things, it fizzled out into a restless boredom that I can only stand so much. Still, from time to time [Taking Drugs To Make Music...] is the collection I choose". They do get a bit tiresome to listen to, but man oh man, how fantastic it is when you got the itch for them, which only they can scratch in the way they can. Sound of Confusion, I Love You, Losing Touch with My Mind is such such such great songs

The demo version of 'Come Down Easy' on Forged Prescriptions is one of my favourite things they have ever done as a group, the production is really refreshing. Something to check out if you haven't already.

Efkes noflik nei Spacemen 3 lústerje. Persoanlik sjoch ik S3 as in mear ruwer variant fan Spiritualized en Sonic Boom / Spectrum. Aber, dit is ek wol wêr logisch sinds sy hjirre noch JONG en EARM wynen. (Gok ik, wit ik folle. Wol gewoan efkes noflik nei Spacemen 3 lústerje)

I have started to listen to this gentlemen in a sort of biblical/religious way. They're just so good and so legendary, all their songs and albums have a special touch that I can't put into words, one can only feel the beautiful melodies and music this gentlemen were able to make with feedback noise, simplistic and few guitar chords and electric organs. So much, with so little. They show you that you don't have to be a skilled technical player of any instrument to make awesome music.

When someone compares the talents of Sonic and J. Spaceman they're usually taking sides, as to which is more talented than the other. I'm of the mind that we are fortunate to have the both of them (sharing the same birthdate!) in there prime, making exquisite music when they were getting along. However, if I were to make an analogy of the two talents, it would be something like Lennon to Harrison.. or even Jones to Richards. I'd say Sonic would be more of the Lennon/Jones mind, whereas J. would be more of the Harrison/Richards figure. Both are great in their own right and difficult to compare. I think of Sonic as more of an ideas, influences, and textures man and J. as more of a technical player that can carry them out to an even fuller extent. Myself, I prefer Pete a bit more, but it's all subjective ;)

I think Sonic Boom was just a little bit ahead of J Spaceman during their time together in Spacemen 3, but I think Jason has caught up with him with his work in Spiritualized, which is also perfect. But still, it's very hard to pick one of them, I guess we just have to be thankful to be able to enjoy the music they made together and in their own separate paths. Long live the Spacemen 3!

HaHaHaYoureDead

You could try 'Forged Prescriptions'. It's made up of demos and alternate versions, but Pete Kember says it's how The Perfect Prescription should have sounded. -- it just was too hard replicate live, supposedly.
