In my opinion they're basically the same band except they just changed their name and sound, and the sound from the S/T is not far off from what they where doing before they went full on Glam Rock. Mickey Finn stayed in the band after the name change (He first appeared on A Beard of Stars), and they where also playing songs from both the Tyrannosaurus Rex & T. Rex eras during live shows from what I've seen, they at least did this on the recordings that Across the Airwaves features. Either way I personally prefer scrobbling both under T. Rex, I'm just giving my two cents here.

It's defaulting to T. Rex's tabs . I added psychedelic rock and folk ages ago on the Tyrannosaurus Rex page. @lastfm decided to add all Tyrannosaurus Rex under T.Rex, which is a shame as they are distictly different and not the same genre. As only a few of us scrobble with the Tyrannosaurus Rex name. Probably not enough users adding the tags.
