of course not… the genres have historically had a lot of overlap. was just commenting on how feel good inc. managed to be a top song for both of those very popular tags, even though the last.fm tag system can be very confusing and inaccurate sometimes.

I agree, epsecially considering how pop they sound even more so now a days. You could argue that their earlier albums had rock elements but at the end of the day they are a pop rock band for their first few albums, then they quickly shifted to a more straight up pop oriented sound.

Everything they did up until the Viva la Vida album is alt/indie rock, only after they switched to pop rock / made their albums more commercial. Everyday Life, which is a bit more recent, is tagged as alt rock aswell. So yeah, they are a rock band.
