Try to find songs fitting every year of my life... obviously starting at the point I can remember music and trying to not let embarasment over my taste in music as a child get in the way... The songs may be chosen because I listend to this song a lot, they may be chosen for representing the year emotionaly. In the best cases, both is true. The only way to realy apreciate music is to know where it comes from... turns out there is a lot of history to music, and while academic discusions of it are fine, this is my try to make it intuitive in a journey throu the history of music itself, begining with music probably written about - 500 a.D. (Kyrie) Medieval Music from People like Walter von der Vogelweide (Palestinalied; 1230) and continuing on to the Rainisance Ave maria (1484) by Josquin Desprez to Erich Nicolaus and John Ward in the midedle sixteenhundrets. continuing into the Baroqe the greats; like Purcell and Bach, come to mind, folowed by another one of the greatest Minds in Music History, Mozart. After this the Names just keep on droppin: Vibaldi, Beethoven, Wagner, Dvorak... What is by most percieved as "calssical music" actualy is a long development, starting with bach and continuing until today.
