We sure do (: yeah I just have mp3s on my laptop from my Joanna Newsom CDs, all four of them are on my phone as standard. So i just use the lastfm scrobbler app on my phone to scrobble her songs. Anyway, did you find me in a Joanna shoutbox somewhere or something?

Oh that one, i forgot all about it lol. Thanks for the like, i’m assuming that was you? I actually got to see Caroline live at a festival last year, I danced my ass off so hard my t-shirt was sticking to my skin by the end of it. It was great (: As for the CD thing, yes I have been a fan of Joanna for over 10 years at this point, so I bought those back before the vinyl trend really exploded (here at least). But I currently also own vinyls of HOOM and Divers, hoping she’ll do a vinyl reissue of the first two records at some point. Beyond just supporting the artist, I really value having a physical representation of a piece of art that changed my life. Even if I rarely actually spin those records.

That festival experience sounds incredible!! Which songs were the most danceable to you? I would totally see her live & have watched many a video on YouTube. Hoorah for your 10 year Joanna fan anniversary! That is special to have physical representation of the music. I used to love journaling about my favorite songs of the month. What would you say her music has brought you in terms of shifting your life?

Well she did most of Desire and a few of the biggest songs from Pang, like So Hot You're Hurting My Feelings. The whole thing was a blur to be honest, but just really positive vibes all around. This is usually the case when an artist has a large queer audience. Feels like a safe place to be yourself, you know. As for Joanna, maybe "changed my life" is the wrong phrase to use. It's more like she has peered into my soul and seen the joy and the sorrow there. Her songs are etched into my brain, I know all the lyrics by heart and sing them frequently. Not that my voice is that good, but singing Joanna's songs has helped me hold on to sanity during some of the worst times of my life. As you might guess, waiting over 8 years for the follow-up to Divers has been pretty rough (; but hey, perfection takes time right? And she had a child as well, which I'm sure has been taking up a lot of her time.

Cant go wrong with Pang! & That makes sense re: queer audiences. I unfortunately havent been to many shows where that's the case. Tennis' crowd was sweet! Soon I'm going to a queer folk show that i hope will be a positive environment for all. Re: JN -- hey, I would consider daily brain integration like that to be life changing! I seriously love when music takes over. Autopilot, unconscious radio. I hope you get a new Joanna album soon. My pen pal introduced me to her & I'm happy to explore the discog.

ik heb Currents pas één keer in zijn geheel beluisterd, maar ik had inderdaad ook wel wat meer ervan verwacht. Let It Happen is met afstand het beste nummer van Currents. Disciples en Cause I'm A Man zijn ook wel prima imo, maar verder valt het redelijk tegen...

Ik vind Screen Shot best wel beest eigenlijk... Album vind ik alleen een beetje aan de lange kant... Als je dan toch progressive noise gaat maken, doe dan minder nummers (zoals bij GY!BE).. Kwalitatief gezien zal ik niet klagen..
