For the 1st time in nearly 30 years, influential bassist Jah Wobble and the guitarist Keith Levene will re-unite in London for a special event.

The former members of Public Image Limited have decided to come together for unique gigs at select venues. Village Underground in Shoreditch has been chosen as the first London venue to be rocked by their dub interpretation of the genre defining post-punk album, Metal Box.

Growing out of confined spotty adolescence, Public Image Limited's seminal debut First Issue and its follow-up Metal Box, was the sound of punk grown-up. Taking in more international influences from locations as diverse as the mean streets of New York through to the shanty towns of Jamaica, Keith Levene and Jah Wobble became fundamental to the PiL sound.

Levene's sheering guitar legacy can be heard in the two generations of bands that followed and acerbic albums by Massive Attack and Primal Scream. Jah Wobble’s signature sonic boom can be heard on a myriad of successful releases, from his world tinged Invaders Of The Heart project through to collaborations with luminaries such as Bjork, Eno, Bill Laswell et al.

“METAL BOX has not aged. It is timeless. We are having a lot of fun performing it,” says Jah Wobble.

Last year Jah Wobble and Keith Levene collaborated in the studio with Manchester's Julie Campbell for the highly acclaimed Psychic Life album.

Metal Box In Dub is now ready to be unleashed on the UK and the first venue to feel the glorious guitar and deep bass thrums will be Village Underground.
