Description
One of the first artists to grace the Summer Series stage back in 2003, Alison Goldfrapp’s progressive synthpop, technicolour visuals and magnetic performances have made her one of the most loved electronic acts in British music.
The songwriter, vocalist, performer and producer has evolved and transformed herself with each album, and her seven albums with Goldfrapp exhibited a restless quest and sixth sense for timeless sounds. Over their career, the multi-platinum selling band produced three number-one US dance singles, receiving multiple nominations for the Grammys, Brits plus a Mercury Prize nod for their debut album.
Last year saw Alison release her first solo collaboration, Impossible, with electronic duo Röyksopp, and 2023 has seen her restless imagination return to the dancefloor and initiated her first solo album. The resulting progressive house tracks, constructed with producer Claptone, are a celebration of blissed out, breezy dancefloor nights, hotwiring analogue synths with the electric pulse of Italo disco.
Her last performance on our stage was one of the highlights of the 2017 Summer Series, so it’s a special treat to have this iconic artist return to launch the next phase of her musical metamorphosis.
