Description
YEVGENY SUDBIN
MAY 7, 2024 6:30 PM
Hailed by The Telegraph as “potentially one of the best pianists of the 21st century”, Russian-born Yevgeny Sudbin is an artist of exceptional talent, which is showcased across a wide range of styles and composers. This recital starts from the death of Fryderyk Chopin and touches on some of the composers who took Chopin’s works as a springboard for advances in music: from the ominous Funérailles by Franz Liszt, written for Chopin’s death, to the virtuosic adaptation of Saint-Saens Danse Macabre.
Programme:
Liszt Funérailles “October 1849”
Chopin Ballade No 4 Op. 52
Debussy l’Isle joyeuse L. 106
Scriabin Sonata No 10 Op. 70
Danse Macabre Saint-Saens (after Liszt and Horowitz)
Yevgeny Sudbin, piano
