Parallel Lines is Blondie's most successful album to date, and includes the singles "Hanging On The Telephone", "Sunday Girl", "Heart Of Glass", "Picture This", "I'm Gonna Love You Too" and "One Way Or Another" making this a veritable mini-greatest-hits collection.

Blondie's third album also introduced the world to the six-member lineup that would go on to chart with four US and five UK number one singles: Clem Burke (drums), Jimmy Destri (keyboards), Nigel Harrison (bass), Debbie Harry (vocals), Frank Infante (guitar), and Chris Stein (guitar).

Everyone in the band contributed songs, except Burke. Covers include two songs originally by The Nerves: "Hanging On The Telephone" and "Will Anything Happen?" (written by Jack Lee), and "I'm Gonna Love You Too", a Buddy Holly cover (written by Joe B. Mauldin, Norman Petty and Niki Sullivan).
