Happy 70th Ian! Thank you firstly for all the great lemons in your basket of fruitful frenetic lyric. Thankyou also for the Apples you so rightly picked from the tree of life and crafted into a delicious crumble. Thankyou for Laughter when things haven't been so great, and whilst we're on that album, the nickname Master Peanut. Thank you for the legacy and that musical legendary you brought together to play such sweet song; The Blockheads. A life: 4,000 weeks. A Blockheads gig: 4,000 seconds. Strange that the latter seems like a lifetime and more. Where-ever you are Ian, just keep on Riding those Outskirts of Fantasy; I'll be there as soon as I can mate.

Def agree PunkyFunkyDucky -- tho it would help if Ian's music was available to play on Last.FM -- it would help to introduce him to a whole new generation of discerning music fans.

Billericay Dickie should be played to James Blunt as someone sturdy and unforgiving smashes his against the a brick wall ad infinitum
