“Baby I'm Bleeding“ is the second single released from Peggy’s sophomore studio album Veteran. The song was originally titled “Black Kanye West”, and was first heard when performed live in December 2016.
The song is produced by JPEG himself and is a minimal, lo-fi track with a complex structure – a change of pace stylistically for JPEG. The song feature’s a harsh, loud and jangly sample that repeats and bends throughout the song. It also samples an audio clip from “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”.
The lyrics are a stream of consciousness and are violent in nature. The music video, directed by Audrey Gatewood, and song were premiered by Paste Magazine
On January 26, 2018, the single was given the Best New Music tag by Pitchfork.
