Te Ao Mārama is the third EP by New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde, released on September 9, 2021. It arrives two weeks after her third studio album Solar Power and acts as a companion piece to it, as it includes 5 songs from the album sung entirely in te reo Māori, the indigenous language of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Lorde revealed that all the proceeds from this project will go to Forest and Bird and Te Hua Kawariki Charitable Trust, two New Zealand charities.
Through an email, Lorde talked about the meaning of releasing this EP: "I know I’m someone who represents New Zealand globally in a way, and in making an album about where I’m from, it was important to me to be able to say: this makes us who we are down here".
