I honestly think Neil Peart might be the best lyricist of all time. Anagram (For Mongo) has so much clever wordplay, but there's so much else... the whole Clockwork Angels album, the Cygnus duology, Presto, Natural Science, 2112, Dreamline, Red Sector A... and a hundred more. He's not only one of the greatest drummers of all time, he's one of our greatest poets, and I wish that was more recognised. I mean, for God's sake, almost every song he's written lyrics for are a literary masterpiece - and I'm not saying this lightly, I'm a giant book nerd and have read so many books (an absolutely ridiculous amount), and Neil Peart is still among my top 5 literary inspirations.

After reading Geddy's biography I felt like playing through all their studio albums for the first time in 4 or so years. Really enjoying everything after reading what they went through during the recording of each, what a group they were.

I loved their 90s albums. Roll the bones was very much them trying to transition out of 80s (more so than Presto), and Counterparts is one of their most overlooked albums. Test for Echo is really strong (minus the last two tracks) and I wish they'd done more off of it live in the later tours.

keeping him in a cage like he's my pet mouse and putting a running wheel and tiny bass guitar inside the cage for stimulation

Any escape might help to smooth The unattractive truth But the suburbs have no charms to soothe The restless dreams of youth RIP Neil

Just finished Ged's book, what a ride that band had. So glad we have 40 years worth of music to enjoy forever :) Long live Rush! \m/

He is a solid singer for sure. A love it or hate it type voice, but people denying he can sing is discrediting his ability. He can sing great, it's just a matter if you enjoy his voice or not (which I sure do hehe).

Today is different, and tomorrow the same It's hard to take the world the way that it came Too many rapids keep us sweeping along Too many captains keep on steering us wrong It's hard to take the heat, It's hard to lay blame To fight the fire while we're feeding the flames Second Nature - Hold Your Fire 1987 R.I.P Neil

Rush last toured in my country in 2012, when I was 13, and they were my favourite band even then and my parents refused to buy me a ticket because I "wouldn't appreciate it at that age" and "they will tour again later"... My parents will be paying reparations for this for the rest of my life.

It is unfortunate I got into the band the year before Neil died, luckily step-Dad has all the live concert videos but still sucks

When I listen to Rush, I feel an amazing sense of self and freedom. They were a voice of hope and wisdom. Of course we lost Neil before the world plunged into chaos anew.

There were April Wine (a Canadian hard rock band that formed in 1969) and Christmas (later Spirit of Christmas) formed in 1969 in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada
