Some time ago Trilok Gurtu performed on Nguyen Le's Tales from Viet-Nam. I consider it a classic album in jazz fusion/world music genre and therefore dedicated a comprehensive review of the album. You can read it by clicking below. There's a translation tool in the top right corner. Finally, if you like the review you may also click "lubię to" button to like my website (on the right handside of the page). http://www.laboratoriummuzycznychfuzji.com/2013/03/recenzje-klasyka-tales-from-viet-nam.html

Very creative fellow, seen him a few times live with McLaughlin and his own band. Just fantastic shows all around.

"Cherry Town" sounds as fresh today as it first did way back then in 1977. Definitely a case of music ahead of its time!

Saw him live tonight with Arke Quartet - Ive ordered Arkeology, and have a strooong feeling it'll be worthwhile. They were absolutely incredibly live - amazing compositions (a couple of which were written by the members of Arke. Heres hoping the cd lives up to the live performance - sadly, even the best cds struggle at that!
