can/goo is a four person Japanese pop band led by TAPIKO. They first debuted in 2001 and is mostly associated with several anime soundtracks. An excerpt from can/goo's website describes their music as having a natural, feel-good sound reminiscent of 70's music in Japan. All four members are writers and musicians and devote time to individual projects apart from the group. Though releases of recordings are few and far between, they continue to perform live in shows and appearances across Japan.

The creator of can/goo was the lead guitarist, POM. He met TAPIKO and was impressed by her strong and soulful voice. As members of the GOOD-DAY recording company they had worked behind-the-scenes with members of DEEN, including HIDE, the drummer. Along with bass player KIYO, can/goo released their debut single, Kakera in July 2001 under Indies label Music Web Records. The lead song in this single was used as the ending for the Japanese TV show "CGTV" (Car Graphic TV). Their first album, Ima Koko ni Iru was released a year later on the same Indies label.

The major studio break came for can/goo in November 2002 with the release of their single Maboroshi for King Records and partner animation studio StarChild. This single was used as the opening theme for the anime, Sister Princess Re Pure. The next year can/goo produced another single with opening and ending themes for the Ultra Maniac anime, and followed this in subsequent years with singles for Sensei no Ojikan and Meine Liebe. Their first major album release was Kokoro no Uta, also for King Records, collecting their first 4 singles, works used by TV shows, and other songs from the first 4 years working together. Their latest album, Kokoro Switch, will be released on September 30, 2012.
