It's a sunny but cold afternoon, reaching highs of 11 degrees Celsius and lows of 4 degrees Celsius.

I'll be honest with you, I've never really given the Mystery Jets much attention (what I heard from the last album didn't really do very much for me) but you do tend to be right about these sort of things so I'll definitely spotify it in the next week or so. [Also I find being teetotal is a good money saver, though the tradeoff is that you are constantly aware of the dreadful music in whatever nightclub you're in. I can recite the words of "I Gotta Feeling" by Black Eyed Peas in full to you despite never deliberately listening to it.]

Just finished listening to it on youtube, sounds great I agree. Hoping the whole set of covers get released together at some point, not really a fan of getting them separately on itunes (Elbow's Mercy Street was pretty great as well for one).

I got Elvis Costello's My Aim Is True on LP for €2 yesterday. My charity shop is no longer a failure.

I really need to move. The nearest charity shop to my place offers such delights as Kenny Rodgers's Me And Bobby McGee and the greatest hits of The Eagles.

I'd say it's the best cover of all time at least. (also, I've been looking for a physical copy for months. damn you.)

in terms of live TH I think I'll always have a soft spot for The Name Of This Band Is Talking Heads, mainly because it was the first of their albums I bought. Though they're definitely a better live band than studio band going by those two.

My greatest shame. (to be honest with you, they were a bit disappointing coming after More Songs/Fear Of Music/Remain In Light. It's probably more to do with the quality of those three than the quality of Tongues/Naked/Creatures, and it's not that they were bad by any means, just didn't stick like the Eno albums did.)

You seem to be correct. Don't worry, the situation's being rectified presently. (I've never actually gotten around to Speaking In Tongues/Naked/Little Creatures til now. Shocking, I know.)

it really is. (also I must compliment your listening habits over the last evening or so. any recently played thing with DJ Shadow, Bark Psychosis, Beta Band and Michael Brook deserves kudos.)

He is brilliant study music. And a new Blur album kind of has to happen now or I will cry. The fact that the song is not rubbish and is in fact pretty brilliant only helps.

I'm not fully convinced yet. Though that bit from about 1:36-2:05 is genuinely quite amazing, actually.

I refuse to accept that all of her material is good given that she has collaborated with non-Fugees Wyclef Jean at least once. Though to be honest, it's more indifference than actual dislike really.

I don't feel as bad for thinking that, knowing that others such as yourself agree. (also our compatibility is Low now which makes me sad. You know I love you of course.)

It is incredible (the Mirrorball and Heroes covers in particular. you're right about Listening Wind too, had no idea how he'd pull it off but it's fantastic.) I'm hoping I'll Scratch Yours can match up, though multiple-artist cover albums are never very consistent. I need to get Nothing Can Stop Us (I need to get some Robert Wyatt in general. Shameful I know), though I do have a soft spot for Dub Side of the Moon.
