But seriously, it's always good to stumble across someone who's been around this joint as long as I have. Thanks for the follow. :)

Depends on what you're looking for from your live experience. Pros: Very good live, always book great supporting acts (the show I went had Bartees Strange who was PHENOMENAL), encore is from their individual catalogues so if you like them solo you get a little bonus at the end, cool set designs Cons: Very literal interpretations of their album work without changing anything up for live sets (like you could easily just play the albums on shuffle from large speakers and put them on stage and musically it's the same experience), IDK how old you are but I'm 32 and I skewed about 10+ years older than the vast and overwhelming majority of everyone there and all the kids were very, you know, teenager-y so it's kind of like going to Chucky Cheese as a childless adult for the pizza, ticket prices can be expensive, esp resale market, and there are SO MANY PEOPLE, it was easily the longest line of any show I have ever gone to including festivals, sold out stadium shows, etc.

Overall I'd def go see them again, but I love their music and live music is usually always worth the effort for me. Your mileage may vary. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wasn’t your name on the list of people going to the Future Islands show in Richmond.

Yep, sadly had to cancel last minute for work reasons. Shame, I love them live. Was it a good show?

Lol, your current "About Me" blurb. Me too. :\ I miss seeing everyone's "old" About Me pages most. RIP to so many creative pages. You could get a pretty good idea of everyone's personalities just via that first page, and then checking out if you had similar tastes in music.

“I wonder what it's like to just, like, fucking enjoy music“ resonates with me and encapsulates the way I feel about scrobbling more than just about anything else I’ve read on Last.fm, and I guess I wanted you to know that. (Obligatory “whoa nice charts there friendo” comment goes here, too.) Which feature of this site were you most disappointed to see plucked from us over the years?

Groups! I miss the community aspect. Now we're all just little islands of despair and shitty music. :(

Groups would be my choice, too. We had one where everyone was synced up with a Dropbox and would share leaks, and take turns sharing write-ups and albums with a rotating Album of the Week feature. Was a lot of fun and very immersive. I really can't believe they did away with those.

I love this website despite everything that happened. Since 2011 I can't live without it. Have a good one, Cara.

At this point, I really just throw a few songs I'm enjoying for the past few days to people and see if anything sticks. So hopefully something might be appealing, I can only hope it's at least bearable to go through these songs.

I disagree, but I'm glad you enjoy your time here! I just feel like it's been largely stripped of the functionality that, five or six years ago, made it an eminently user-friendly community, geared towards music discovery and socialization. Now it performs as well in neither aspect, so I guess I'm just a little disappointed, remembering the community that used to thrive here. Each to his own, though!

good points, but I appreciate the community here and find it preferable to other social media sites I have visited

Went through my followers page and your pic looked familiar. Sure enough the shouts did indeed show we've spoke before. Thanks for the follow, any music of any type you'd recommend to give a spin?

Ever since last.fm has gone on permanent beta status it has become difficult to look through users music library to find similarities. I did check out the top artist in your list and we have a few in common. One thing I did notice is that you have Pixies and Modest Mouse but I didn't see MM's "the lonesome crowded west" album. If you ever have time to kill you should check it out, Trebek thinks you might like it.

It was a quality shout and I am a grateful recipient, even if it was bestowed in neglect.

Thanks, it was inspired by two new songs I found from The War on Prescriptions during the week. I wouldn't say it's entirely neglect. The reason I had a tab open of your profile is because I have a system in which i use the top songs of user libraries (all time, 1 year, 6 months, etc.) I find interesting and play them on a playlist. Each song gets a minimum of ten plays. I don't really contact users whose profiles I do this with anymore since replies are quite rare. Sssoooo... that's the story morning glory?

I also added more content to twod thread, including a playful jab at one of your shouts. Good jorb on the rugs sequence, I had been racking by brain on how to concoct a proper scheme but couldn't come up with anything.

Well you have to listen to Closing Time! :D Wonderful album, his first! But one of my favorite albums is also Small Change. That album is a little jazzy though. But if you're a fan of Rain Dogs, I would recomend Franks Wild Years. Much depends on what you enjoy in Tom Waits music :)
