Happened upon the playlist you made through the shoutbox of 'Is This Music?' by Teenage Fanclub. Good stuff! A couple suggestions: 'Head Full Of Fuzz' and 'Spent' by Black Market Karma and 'Pearly Gates Smoke Machine' and 'It Will Never Be Simple' by Guided By Voices

Hello. I saw you shout on Billy Idol from a few years ago about wanting to find more songs like Eyes Without a Face, and I've been trying to come up with something. I'm second-guessing myself here because we apparently don't have a lot of artists in common, but I feel like maybe parts of Tamaryn's Cranekiss album have some of that sound going on. It's probably not really New Wave, but she is heavily influenced by New Wave, so maybe it fits.

Thank u for checking it out! :—) I was bummed to see that Clio never released an album. Those two singles were shaping up to what could've been a great pop album

Funny story: as a 16 year old, I used to comment on golfer Damien McGrane's Facebook statuses so frequently that he reported me for impersonating him. I had to scan my passport and send it to Facebook to prove that I was real lol

I can't claim to have kept up with the series but Tekken 1-3 was my life as a youngster. I especially obsessed over the 1998 tekken animated movie lol. King is a legend

It's a great tune. I moreso named it after the movie but the two are synonymous. I've never really explored Oingo Boingo's albums come to think of it

Thank you! I think I saw one of your comments on their shoutbox. Chic is one of the bands of my life. I worship Nile and ‘Nard, haha. I wish I lived in the disco area. Yours is a great library, too.

Hahaha nah I appreciate this - thank you for your concern. Also I think those scrobbles were my Dad using my Spotify account so effectively I've never purposely listened to The Beatles. Which album of their's do u think I'd enjoy the most? My ~British invasion~ knowledge is nil and I need guidance

I know this was like one 8 months ago, but I’m gonna answer anyway, because I have had it on my mind all that time, and now I’m in better control of myself so I can do. I’m not an expert on the beatles by any mean. Not even a extremely obsessed fan. I just have a special relationship with them since my childhood, because we had the red and blue CD, with all the singles, and some b-sides. I loved it. It make me feel good and excited. Like videogames soundtracks, or eating an entire chocolate. It also made me feel nostalgic, in a weird way. I didn’t want to go back, but it was a feeling like I knew them since ever. So, I see you already starting listening to Revolver. the one that has the best reviews. The thing I think you could do is start listening the red cd her —> https://open.spotify.com/album/6126O4XLYAfzU3961ziahP?si=lREGUiS-T9GPdx8fJGrATg so you’re gonna have a good base of they early phase, without having to go trough all the filler. I loved that CD when I was kid.

It’s maybe blasphemy doing it that way to some people (and not going directly to the albums) but I think that’s the more enjoyable way. You could also see the new documentary “The Beatles: Eight Days a Week”, so you get a better feeling of how were that years. also the Hard Days night movie. I haven’t seen neither one, but I have heard great things, and I really want to haha. After that I would go this way: Rubber Soul ~ transition between early phase and pshycodelic-mature phase, romantic, and so good ~ —> Sgt Peppers Remix ~ this album is also special, and it has all this little sounds, and details, the new version is a lot better, you’re gonna love if you use good headphones —> white album 2018 remix —> The Beatles without any filter and in their maximum power, it has many classics, there is a good review about it in RYM… So that is what I think! Sorry if’m being a bit incoherent in the way I express myself. You can ask me anything if you want!!!

Thanks for following me :) Just noticed you don't have any Sundays scrobbles... Do you know them? I only really know their first album (Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic) but it's really good! Great guitar and a beautiful voice.

No problem, your charts are excellent :—) I've spent a little time with The Sundays (when in doubt: library/music/artist+name) but I really appreciate the rec regardless! I strongly encourage any and all jangly recommendations, especially from a Close Lobsters fan such as yourself! (Easily my fav of the ~c86~ scene)

Thanks.. and sorry! You weren't in the listeners you know on their page for some reason :/ Close Lobsters may be my favourite c86 band too; they were my first one actually... In that case I'll recommend The Housemartins. They're not c86, but I hope you'll find them suitably jangly :) They were on a lot when I was a kid, so I wonder how they've influenced my taste...

Thanks, really appreciate the suggestions. I just said British cos I've been looking around c86 type stuff I guess, and I wouldn't mind some Smiths influence. I'll give them all a listen, thanks again :)

Hey there :~) I hope you're keeping well too. I certainly love Ambient 2 and The Pearl. Admittedly I've been listening to way less music in general this year but I still usually make time for a lil ambient. Otherwise I've been (slowly) making my way thru R.E.M's early stuff - I think I was originally inspired by browsing your charts tbh so thanks for that! Haha
