Amanda Lear's birth gender really is irrelevant at this stage. Even if those papers' reports are true, she has lived the better part of her life as a woman and should be considered as such. She is an icon and a genius, to be honest, and I'm really looking forward to her new album next year! [3] Yes, Amanda Lear is Amanda Lear. She's an enigma and that's part of her allure and why we all love her so much. To be honest I never want to know the true history behind her life. I look at Amanda and all I see is the beautiful, clever, fascinating woman who's music and art I fell in love with many years ago. I know Amanda gives us reason to talk about her past due to the nature of some of her earlier lyrics but frankly I think it's unnecessary to do so today and a bit disrespectful, especially calling her "Mr.Tap". Anyway, new album next month. March 17th is the date when "My Happiness" hits the shelves. A collection of Elvis covers. I'm beyond excited. This will be the year of the Lear.

an excerpt from an article from an Italian newspaper surfaced online in November 2011, including a reproduction of a copy of Lear's birth act, which states that she was born Alain Maurice Louis René Tap on 18 June 1939 in Saigon, and a picture of Lear as a young man.[1

The Sphinx is great. The world weary & wry vocal performance by Amanda Lear works a charm with the lyrics.

I have scrobbed Amanda Lear in my library 400 times. The 400th play with the song "I'm Coming Up (Special Ops Hello Dali Mix)."

I'm in love with "Scorpio 66". It's gotta be one of my favourites from Amanda's latest album. It's certainly the most infectious of all her recent songs and thats saying something. "Love At First Sight" is fantastic as well. Everything is from from the album!

over time, and while listening to her many self-penned lyrics, i find myself very much in a sort of protective admiration of her. she seems clever, witty, vulnerable, ridiculous, and ever so slightly inept at singing. i think it's great, anyway. long live amanda lear. [2]. Well said. I agree.
