Antipole is the moniker of guitarist Karl Morten Dahl based in Trondheim, Norway. Working with multiple producers and artists his music is always instantly recognizable by guitar-driven, evocative and hypnotic post-punk/darkwave atmosphere and melodies.
Kill Shelter & Antipole - 'A Haunted Place' (CD/LP, 2021) was released on Manic Depression Records. The collaboration album features the single Raise the Skies.
Album 'Radial Glare' (LP/CD, 2019 was released on Young & Cold Records. The album features Paris Alexander, Eirene and Marc Lewis (of The Snake Corps). The album includes the single Syndrome ft. Paris Alexander.
The debut album 'Northern Flux' (CD, 2017) was released on Unknown Pleasures Records ft Paris Alexander and Eirene - both from Brighton, UK.
Remix album ‘Perspectives’ (2018) ft remixes by Ash Code , Kill Shelter, Agent Side Grinder, Delphine Coma and more. 'Perspectives II' (2020) ft remixes by ACTORS, S Y Z Y G Y X, Undertheskin, Crying Vessel, European Ghost and more. Single 'Marble' (Digital, 2021) ft a remix by the Belarusian band Молчат Дома.
Antipole (most frequently with Paris Alexander, but also with Pedro Code of IAMTHESHADOW) have remixed She Past Away, Geometric Vision, Buzz Kull, Clan of Xymox, IAMTHESHADOW, Hante., In Letter Form, Agent Side Grinder, Skeleton Hands, Nürnberg and more. Antipole has also worked with and performed live with IAMTHESHADOW.
Antipole started as a project after Karl met Anne-Christel in 2013. Karl had been writing songs and been in bands before but was inspired to start writing and record more music - this time inspired by Anne-Christel, the early 80s wave and postpunk music.
Antipole makes elegant electronic/wave/postpunk music. Guitar-based tracks driven by a linear rhythm, inspired by the beauty of nature as well as the everlasting presence of mixed feelings while living our lives. The music is like sketches, gust, a puff of wind. An instant expression, a journey into the intersection of the lightest light and the darkest dark. A melodic-hypnotic sphere, only reached by the ones who feel the multifaceted shades of life. So fragile, but yet so strong.
