Lots of unique sounds on here which really grabbed my attention on the fist spin. Now a year or so later I continue to pull this album out on a regular basis I love it so much. Poor judgement, I think not! It's called an ear for good music!

I've had a Check Your Head t-shirt almost 10 months now [2] heheh. One of their most unrecognized because of only one single. But still, one of their best albums. Odd how Paul's Boutique and this, their 2 most underplayed albums, are also their best.

It took me a few listens to get into this. I had to adjust to the jazz/hip-hop fusion.

There's a real good mix of live instruments and samples. The genius of the beasties is that they do funk so well that when they play it sounds like some old retro break. Check your head is one of the 3 best beasties albums, boutique and ill communication being the others

some think that this record is live instrumentation all the way through. so wrong. there could be more cuts and samples on this Lp than any other they released. jimmy james was so called because they used 2 or 3 hendrix cuts in that track alone. genius, and will forever be in my top ten records crate.

This album is so good it should be illegal. Beck owes em a favour for what this album did to alternative music
