Can I just gush about how transfixing and hauntingly beautiful "Infliction" is? Has to be one of his very best uses of hypnotizing rhythm. I have loved almost every studio album Stetson has put out, but good god Wept For the Sea has a chokehold on my mind and soul recently.

Colin Stetson fans when you say your favorite song by him is The Righteous Wrath of an Honorable Man and not an 8 minute drone piece from the soundtrack of some random documentary nobody has ever watched or heard about

I'm unclear about that too, but I'm sure it involves lotsa spitting, moaning and mouth-farting

when we were that what we ought to how we cried over the ocean absolutely fucks. And I ain't talking bout no namby-pamby, face-to-face lovemaking. I'm talking 'bout hardcore, face-down-ass-up, raw-dogging, jungle sex.

Stetson and his sax need an exorcism for their own good health, but I don't want it to happen because that possession is too fucking awesome

I've always liked Colin, always gave him props for using bass sax and very high quality recording techniques, but he's also kinda gimmicky. Many of his songs never had too much replay value for me, personally

I like that he snuck a second track in on that new adult swim compilation (https://www.adultswim.com/music/new-jazz-century). A tweet about it being 2 songs: https://twitter.com/colin_stetson/status/1311378580539047937

Unbelievable musicianship, everything Colin touches is gold. NHWV.2 is a masterwork.

Will he score Midsommar maybe? What would a saxophonist do for a film that probably will have traditional folk music? Maybe this difference would make the results even more interesting. I still can't believe that some of the pieces on Hereditary were done with horn instruments due to the completely modified and unique results.

Shabaka Hutchings doing something similar on the bass clarinet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_67sUIaaF48

Saw him in Brussels not so long ago and was amazed at the turnout, a packed concert hall of a smaller size 1000-1500. Didn't realize there was so much interest in his music. Has anyone else had similar experiences?

Colin can just have all my money from now on, jesus. After the brutal and inventive All This I do for Glory, the man goes full insane in Hereditary's OST. I'm floored. Perfect soundtrack to one of the best horror films I've ever experienced.
