I know a lot of people shit all over this album, and sure it might not have aged the best or be artistically a masterpiece, but in my opinion it's just some fun kickass nu metal with all the cheese, energy, and badass riffs that make nu metal so appealing to me. Songs like Voices, Stupify, Fear, Shout 2000, Droppin' Plates and my personal favorite song Violence Fetish make this album a classic in my opinion and I find myself going back to the highlights quite often. Disturbed is a band that doesn't have a lot of good albums (only about 3-4 if I'm being generous - including this one), but the albums where they shine are some of the most stupidly fun and entertaining ones you'll find in the genre. This thing's soaked in the 2000s and while most of the people who are ride or die for this album (and the band in general) are meatheads and 40-something dads, I love this album, and I wish they made more music like the Sickness because if they did, they'd probably be a more iconic nu band.

if i was first listening to this today, i'd so easily write it off, but man, i grew up listening to this and playing modern warfare feeling like a badass, and now that i'm 24 and a suicidal gay listening to Xiu Xiu, i still get those good powerful feelings listening. I can love the corny, it makes me feel good

Honestly, this is one of the worst albums I've ever heard in my life. this album simply devolved into being monotonous, generic, annoying, downright offensive in a couple parts (Down with the sickness domestic abuse solo and the Shout cover). Firstly, I would like to talk about the instrumentals. At first, I thought that they were a little cheesy with the synths, but nothing much. But the songs would have the same guitar riff, the same instrumentation over and over and over again, to the point where I started to HATE it. But what truly added to that hate was the lyrics and vocals, my god are they atrocious. He wants to sound so hardcore, so edgy, he look like fucking dorks, and not in a charming way. A very cringe inducing kinda way. Not to mention the wierd voice sampling on Dropping plates and Want. Speaking of the vocals, the lead singer has such a wierd staccato and yelpy ass voice which combined with all the things I mention make this album unlistenable

First three tracks are incredible metal anthems. I listen to them when I need a metal snack. The Game's main riff is a face melter! And of course, Stupify. The rest of the tracks are nowhere near as good, sadly. Very average & forgettable. I've tried to talk myself into thinking they're great, but...This could've been an all time metal classic rather than just a decent album with a handful of killer tracks. Their next album was a lot more consistent, in my opinion.

Really solid album that doesn't get old. I still enjoy it as much as I did when I first heard it.

This is my fav album by Disturbed by far and even though I like their sound now I liked it more then. Also call me crazy, but I think that on this album Disturbed kinda reminds me of the American Rammstein because of their somewhat controversial topics and dabbling in electric sort of beats and stuff.
