I guess all filmmusic lovers - and JNH lovers included - had these moments when there is a track in some score with some beautiful-beautiful music, but which either doesn't allow full development of an idea/orchestration or just ends too abruptly (because the scene in the movie demands immediate change e.g.). For these of us I strongly recommend JNH's "Violin Concerto". As accesible and melodic as the best moments of his filmmusic but without that 'raggedness' of a soundtrack album. And with an accent on violin of course in this case.)

Oh, that single minute - or even half-minute - at the end (which is during the final confrontation) -- after all the brooding dark music it was so unexpected and majestic, to the level of cathartic! They never do it this way now; the power of anticipation and 'building' is completely lost in modern culture.)

Originally I was talking about the moment in "Orange Man", yeah; only didn't remember the title of the exact track. Now that I've relistened the whole score - after many years - I see that "The Wreck" (and also the end of "Mr. Glass/End Title" by the way) has another such 'pinnacle' moment, but it's a smaller one. The culmination is definitely the middle of "Orange Man": the significant preparatory pause in the music and then that sudden steady regal 'rythm', and the trumpet lines on top.. Oh, this track still gives me goosebumps.=) Concerning "The Village", I only rememeber the main theme from there and the shimering violins music. So you'll have to give me some time -- I'll relisten that one as well (and I'll do it with pleasure:).

Movie is great but I loved how it was also used in the teaser for Clint Eastwood’s 2002 movie Blood Work. The movie wasn’t very good honestly but seeing it used in that context made me wonder what a collaboration between him and James would have been like.

Another electro-themeless score? Dont get me wrong, I love Zimmer. But enough is enough! :D

Yeh, exactly. Although Zimmer has somewhat redeemed himself for me after the last Bond.) All in all, I think Simon Franglen is a right choice by Cameron. The guy is not a superstar for sure (which means he will be enthusiastic;), and yet he is quite capable of traditional fullscale orchestral writing established by Horner for Avatar world -- listen to his "Turandot". Imho Franglen continuing Avatars is a more interesting course of events than if Newton Howard would have been signed. And who knows, we could even get another Howard Shore--LOTR situation.. =)

Pawn Sacrifice! Music made the movie and really reflected the emotions of Fisher's character.

A few really great themes and some uninspired rest (e.g. underscore and action cues). Overall it is a little bit above average and below expected, but nothing to hate... :)

Fantastic Beasts soundtrack is amazing! I love how long some of the tracks are which gives the music time to evolve. Truly epic! I actually prefer it to some of the HP soundtracks. Can't wait to see where he goes next with it! Thanks JNH for an amazing soundtrack!

Honestly, I expected more than simply a background music in Fantastic Beasts knowing that James did put a lot of work and time in it

Everybody should listen to "Snow Falling On Cedars". It's his most magical, metaphysical and beautiful music so far. Like from a different world.
