If you're gonna survive in prison, you cannot have the same mentality as the normal guy living a normal life. The guy who lives in suburbia and goes to his job has a completely different mentality than a prisoner. There's aspects of your personality that you could cultivate in prison that are beneficial to your survival that would be seen as psychosis or extreme paranoia.
